Today Elly made her singing debut at an Art and Music Festival in Central Park. She sang in front of her peers, not to mention the several hundred people walking through the festival. I was so proud of how well she did! People clapped for a long time after she finished her Taylor Swift song.
Afterwards I asked her how she did such a brave thing.
“I just said to myself ‘If mom can golf real bad in front of people then I can do this.’ Hey, Mom. Did anybody clap for you when you were done golfing?” she teased.
“No, Elly. But only because clapping isn’t allowed on the golf course.”
She thought about it for a minute and then said:
“Then why would anyone want to golf?”
My thoughts exactly.

I think Elly should have a tip jar. “Anything worth doing is worth doing for money”!

Wow Elly, Congrats! That is amazing. Jeanine, we have this golf game we play at work whenever someone sells something you get to see how many tries it takes to get to the next hole and whoever finishes a scorecard with the least amount of “strokes” wins. No one wants me to sell anything because I suck so bad at golfing, I actually set our team back by selling. They give me so much grief it ain’t even funny so you are not alone. I feel brave too but like you, no one claps….

I kept looking for the place to push play so I could hear her. She is absolutely adorable, and in her element. Love Grandma Judee

Bill- “Anything worth doing is worth doing for money”?
So what’s with me doing laundry pro bono all these years??
Charli- If golf was a flavor, it would taste like a skunk smells. But that’s only because I’m so bad at it. If I was good, it would taste like your lasagna. Mmmmm.
Hey, I just had an idea. Let’s you and me take Bill golfing!
Mom and Dad- I’ll tell her you said so. And then she’ll get a big head about it and start bossing the boys around. Then they’ll say she’s a bad singer and then she’ll sing louder and louder. When does school start?
