My name is Jennine Johnson and am a professional mother. Actually, "professional" makes it sound like I get paid to do this, but I'm a pro bono, stay-at-home mom.
I've been married to my husband, Darren, for 22 years and together we have seven children: Kait-21, Kevin-19, Daniel-16, Logan-14, Isaiah-12, Elly-11 and Nathanael-10.
Kait is engaged to be married and while I adore her fiancé, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that she's all grown up and stuff. Kait's in her junior year of college and hopes to come away with a degree in finance.
Kevin is off to college this year which means the laughter in this home is going to come to a screeching halt. We spend so much time laughing AT him and his egotistical teenage ways... I really have no clue how we will pass the time when he's gone. Kevin wants to be an engineer.
Daniel turned 16 this summer and he has a GIRLFRIEND!
His GIRLFRIEND! loves him and if you don't believe me, check out his GIRLFRIEND'S! facebook wall. Dan is my affectionate child when he's not reminding me that I don't understand, or how I have NO IDEA!
Logan is the alpha male in this house. He's self-motivated, punctual, consistent, disciplined and totally ripped. Just ask him. He's my go-to guy and if I tell him to clean his room, he starts with under the bed! I reward his trustworthiness by saying yes every time he wants to go somewhere. (Circle of Trust, Auggie Logie)
Isaiah is Bam Bam...on crack. He is easily the busiest child I have and if I can't find him hunting coyotes in the field, he's usually on the computer watching Marine sniping videos. He's the kid who used to bite his toast into the shape of a gun. He's wanted to be in the military since he was old enough to know what it is. He's fiercely loyal and loves his momma, even though he rarely tells me.
Elly is the breath of fresh air after having so many boys in a row. She is the official family singer, dancer, performer and crafter. She's all girl right up until her brothers pick on her...and wow, can she hold her own. She's my sweetheart and always has a hug on standby.
Nathanael is the baby, the caboose of this crazy train. He's a momma's boy and so not ashamed of it. He's my Halo buddy and the only child of mine who knew how to make a decent pot of coffee since he was a mere four years old.
I love my family and spending time with them is the best thing this world has to offer.

…Not saying ”I told you so!” when every fiber of your being is screaming for the words to be said.

…Pretending not to care that snow will melt and drip onto the carpet for the next five hours.

…Saying ”Thank you!” when your sixteen year old son brings home an unexpected Christmas gift from his friend’s house.
Because how do you say no to a teenage boy’s selfless, well-intentioned gift to his family?
I just thank God his friend doesn’t raise elephants.

Lol Deb! He kinda does look like he’s part great dane. He certainly doesn’t know that he’s a little guy.
And as far as the tree is concerned…I checked for squirrels before Darren brought in!
Your puppy is adorable!!!! Makes me lonesome for our little Shit-Shu we had for l5 years, and who now lies buried in our back yard. He was a present too–my birthday present from our daughter that year. Didn’t know I wanted a dog, but like you said–how do you say “No” to someone who gives you something because they love you!
I’ll tell you how to say NO! Look at the dog in my site! The 100 pound slobbering idiot they brought home; AND they want one of his offspring – I keep telling them NO NO NO NO and NO. And if IT comes home IT will be name something horrible like Snotz or Huck and not be allowed indoors.

HAHA Our tree looks like that every year because my eyes are always bigger than my house!! We are going to get the tree this weekend – I can’t WAIT!!! I still make the teenagers come along and for a moment they act like they don’t want to but then their faces get all lit up and I can tell they still LOVE to cut down the tree.
The dog is adorable I must say. I always say no because we can’t have dogs with my business but when we got guinea pigs I am the biggest marshmellow in the house. I am always buying the dumb things treats and calling them my grandpigs. I can totally see getting suckered into the dog thing (shhh don’t tell my kids…)
So Lois and Charli…what you’re saying is that if I showed up on your doorstep and said “I love you so much! Here’s a Christmas present from my heart!” you would take a puppy? Because I could so do that!
Deborah- The issue is more that my son, Kevin, RARELY does anything kind for anyone other than himself. I really wanted to encourage him to think of others. Trust me, I would have preferred he said “Hey mom…Merry Christmas. I just folded all the white clothes for you. Oh. And I won’t be moody for 24 hours.” Instead he gives me a creature who doesn’t know the appropriate place to pee and poop.
jennine, guess what! I love it – (I’m giggling inside) :lastnight my hubs talked with the breeder of the the Idiot, you know, my big dog, and the female we studded him with had a – are you ready???? FALSE PREGNANCY!!! I about fell out of my chair laughing with that one! then I had to contain myself and say, “aaawwwww, no puppies???? what a bummer, and I was soooooo looking forward to one!” he just rolled his eyes at me. Quick, I need to call the vet…..
